Australia have just completed a white wash of the Ashes, beating England 5-0. It is arguably the most one sided test series we have witnessed for many a year. Australia thoroughly deserved to win, we were spineless, out-classed, out-played and out-led.
There are two really worrying elements for me, firstly nobody is being held to account over this debacle. Some of the decisions like squad and team selection were woeful. Secondly, the gulf between the two teams was so surprisingly large.
How can a touring team go without a back-up opening batsmen, why would you throw Ballance and Borthwick in to the last test match with so little to gain, why were Rankin and Tremlett in Australia. Shocking decisions and obvious to everyone else.
Surely Alistair Cook has to pay the price ?
